Be sure to catch the Opening Convention Session, featuring Ambassador Ken Adelman. Adelman was an active participant and is a lively and informative story-teller on how President Ronald Reagan ended the Cold War. Adelman is the author of the highly acclaimed new book Reagan at Reykjavik: Forty-Eight Hours that Ended the Cold War and executive producer of an upcoming feature film Reykjavik, starring Michael Douglas as Reagan and Christophe Waltz as Mikhail Gorbachev at that summit.

As the U.S. Arms Control Director, Adelman accompanied President Reagan on his superpower summits and was at his side at Reykjavik. He was previously a U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations and Assistant to the U.S. Secretary of Defense.

Adelman translated for Muhammad Ali in the "Rumble in the Jungle" heavyweight championship fight in Zaire (the Congo) in 1974 and accompanied the British Army on its expedition down the Congo River on the 100th anniversary of Stanley’s trip.
