AGC of America and its partner Sage are getting ready to begin preparing the 2021 Construction Industry Hiring and Business Outlook. A key component of that outlook is the information we hope to gather from members like you. Please take a few minutes to complete the survey

 

The survey will be open throughout November and early December. Then, in conjunction with AGC's chief economist, Ken Simonson, other AGC staff and the Sage team, the association will prepare an analysis of the results which will be released in early January.

As previously reported, the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) is planning to require all recipients of loans of $2 million or more to complete a questionnaire to demonstrate the need for their loan. This form, based on versions leaked to the media and still in the works, appears to arbitrarily mandate that many borrowers provide proprietary financial information to the SBA.

 

The Associated General Contractors of America’s chief executive officer, Stephen E. Sandherr, issued the following statement in reaction to the election of Joseph Biden to serve as the next president of the United States:

 

Construction employment increased by 84,000 jobs in October, with jobs added in both nonresidential and residential categories, according to an analysis by the Associated General Contractors of America of government data released recently. Association officials cautioned, however, that the pandemic is causing a growing number of construction projects to be canceled or delayed, according to a survey the association released in late October.

Scott Frazer, corporate director of safety at The Boldt Company, a member of multiple AGC chapters, is the newest advisory board member of the Florida Chamber Safety Council. The Council is a statewide resource for fostering safety, health and sustainability among Florida businesses and brings together top safety professionals from companies and institutions nationwide.

Alabama AGC hosted its 2020 Centennial Concert in downtown Birmingham at Iron City on October 8 as an ongoing part of their centennial celebration.
