Tocci Building Companies Celebrates Ribbon Cutting at Brookside Square in West Concord, Massachusetts

Tocci Building Companies, a Boston-area construction management company and AGC of Massachusetts member, celebrated the completion of Brookside Square in West Concord, Massachusetts, at a ribbon cutting ceremony on Oct. 2, 2015. The event was attended by project developer Oaktree FX Development (Oaktree), property manager WinnResidential, and special guest Massachusetts State Sen. Michael Barrett. After remarks in the Brookside Square courtyard, attendees were welcome to tour the property and a model apartment.

With a project kickoff date of March 2014, the three-story126,000-sf, mixed-use development is situated on five acres, featuring 74 luxury studio, one, and two-bedroom units on floors two and three, with the ground floor offering 36,000 square feet of first-class commercial space. The residential units include open-concept layouts, private patios or balconies, shared green roof space, energy star appliances, chef’s kitchens, and custom high-end finishes. The commercial space is designed to include businesses, which cater to the Brookside Square residents seeking a work-live-play environment. Designed to achieve a Home Energy Rating System (HERS) rating of 50 out of 150, making it 50 percent more energy efficient than a standard new home, the project featured both energy efficient mechanical and electrical systems. Positioned adjacent to a commuter rail station, the Nashoba Brook, a future "rails to trails" bike path, and West Concord’s main shopping district, as well as featuring many luxury amenities, Brookside Square provides an enviable work life balance closely aligned with the community.

"Brookside Square has already become an intrinsic part of the community, not only through its residential offerings, but also its first-class office space and access to public transportation," said Bud LaRosa, chief business performance officer at Tocci. "We are proud to have helped deliver a quality product through our highly efficient and collaborative processes."

The project marks Tocci’s third collaboration with the Oaktree team, including Gwendolen Noyes, Arthur Klipfel and Patrick Cleary. The project team also included The Architectural Team (TAT), Mayor John Smith of Concord, MA Secretary of Housing & Economic Development Gregory Bialecki, MA Secretary of the Department of Transportation Rich Davey, MA Assistant Secretary for Land & Forest Stephanie Cooper, City Councilors Mary Jones and Barbara Billingsley, Nick and John Boynton of The Boynton Company, and Jack Kerrigan, Steve Cook and Bill Sullivan from Avison Young.
