Allensworth & Porter Names New Managing Partner

Allensworth & Porter, an Austin-based construction law firm and Austin Chapter member, recently announced the selection of Joe R. Basham as managing partner for the firm.
 
Basham has been with the firm since 2002 and was elected to the position in a unanimous decision. In his new role, Basham will provide strategic leadership and direction for the firm.
 
His practice focuses on construction law and construction litigation. He represents owners, developers, general contractors, EPC contractors, subcontractors, architects, and engineers, focusing on contract drafting and negotiation, dispute management and avoidance, and dispute resolution, including mediation, litigation and arbitration.
 
Basham’s legal accolades include being named in the 2014 and 2015 editions of The Best Lawyers in America for Construction Law. He has also been selected to Texas Super Lawyers since 2013.
 
In addition to his legal work, Basham is an Alderman for Rollingwood’s City Council, president of Rollingwood Community Economic Development Corporation, and sits on the board of the Building Enclosure Council – Austin. He is also a member of the Rotary Club of Austin.
 
Basham graduated from Texas A&M University, cum laude, in 1998, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Science. He earned his J.D. from Texas Tech School of Law Order of the Coif, magna cum laude, in 2002.
