Allensworth & Porter Welcomes New Partner

Allensworth & Porter—an Austin chapter member—recently announced the addition of Amy Emerson as a partner with the firm. Emerson assumed her role on Feb. 16, 2015.

Among other accomplishments, Emerson recently defended a city’s zoning authority—winning both at trial and on appeal to the Supreme Court of Texas—and assisted in obtaining the first reservoir permit issued by the State of Texas in almost 30 years.

"We are proud to have a lawyer of Amy’s caliber joining our firm as a partner," William Allensworth, partner at Allensworth & Porter, said. "Allensworth & Porter has a robust and expanding practice involving governmental entities, and Amy’s industry-specific knowledge, experience, and expertise will only expand and improve what our firm has to offer in this arena."

A sought after speaker on topics ranging from contract suits to liability against design professionals, Emerson has spoken to a range of professional groups, including the Construction Law Section of the Austin Bar Association and the Texas City Attorneys Association, among others.
