BIMForum Delivers Rapid-Fire Conference

A series of fast-paced, rapid-fire presentations engaged attendees and delivered rich content at the Spring 2013 BIMForum in Miami. The format of the conference, Pecha Kucha, limited each speaker to 20 slides within seven minutes, creating a reduction sauce of great content. Attendees, ranging from owners to architects to construction managers, strapped in and enjoyed the ride.

In just two days, more than 30 panelists addressed a crowded room and spoke passionately about BIM and specifically, the sociology, or human side, of BIM, discussing unique challenges and providing real-world solutions. Session topics included generational gaps, training and education, and change management, to name just a few, and drilled down to critical areas like mentoring, collaboration, engagement and communication. Panelists and attendees alike shared best practices.

The Fall 2013 BIMForum will focus on prefabrication and modularization, examining the advantages of using BIM for prefabricating building systems and constructing modular building sections. At this time, AGC is accepting proposals for those wishing to present at this event.

The Fall 2013 BIMForum is scheduled for October 8-9, 2013 in Denver, Colo.
