McKinstry Assists 13 Washington State School Districts to Secure Grants

With the help of McKinstry, a leader in construction, energy and facility services and a member of three AGC chapters, 13 K-12 school districts in Washington state have successfully secured more than $9 million in grant funding in the latest round of the 2012 Jobs Now Act.

This funding will allow districts to make improvements to their educational facilities in order to make the buildings more energy efficient, safer and more enjoyable for students and staff. Leveraging additional local funding sources, the $9 million in grants will result in more than $17 million in projects.

"We deeply appreciate McKinstry’s expertise in guiding us through the needs assessment and application process for the Jobs Now Energy Grant," said Dawn Tarzian, superintendent, Washougal School District. "The award could not have come at a better time as we work to stretch every dollar to serve our students and staff."

With these grants, the school districts will be able to replace or upgrade old and outdated facility systems such as air handling, water, heating and lighting systems, while lowering energy usage and waste and providing substantial financial savings. McKinstry’s partner grant winners include:
