TEXO announced their 2018 Distinguished Building Award recipients on Wednesday, April 18. TDIndustries (TD) was acknowledged for its work on the Texas Health Resources Recovery and Wellness Center. TEXO honored the mechanical contractor for the Mechanical 1 category, which represents projects less than $5 million. With the accolade in hand, TD’s project advances to state and national competitions.

The list includes a total of 30 categories. The Beck Group, which partnered with TD on the health center, also earned an award for the project in the Design-Build 3 (over $30 million) category. This TEXO award "embody the skill, commitment, and passion that TEXO members have for construction," TEXO states on its website.

The Mansfield facility takes a wellness approach to voluntary, long-term treatment for adults and adolescents suffering from addiction treatment. It is the first stand-alone, long-term addiction treatment center for Texas Health. The two-story, 77,000 sq-ft campus consists of four guest wings, treatment and meeting rooms, a café, full kitchen, and a lobby area.

TD was the engineer on record and the mechanical contractor for this project. It totaled 37,852 hours worked with zero recordable incidents on the site.

TD, along with the other 29 category winners, will be recognized at TEXO’s December awards gala.
