Rentenbach Constructors and Christman Announce Leadership Appointments

Rentenbach Constructors Incorporated and parent company The Christman Company, both members of multiple AGC chapters, have announced several leadership appointments within their Tennessee operations. The changes follow the announcement in late 2014 of the merger of the two privately held construction services firms with plans to expand and enhance capabilities and services in the southeast U.S. and beyond.  

"I am extremely pleased to recognize the expertise and dedication of these strong leaders as they step up to assume new responsibilities throughout our Tennessee operations," said Steve Roznowski, Christman chief executive officer. "As we continue to grow the organization and expand our services to clients, they are just the caliber of individuals needed to build not only great buildings but long-term relationships with our partners throughout the industry." 

The appointments include:

Marty Gibbs, P.E., vice president and general manager

Gibbs, who joined Rentenbach in 1998 and has 22 years construction experience, is providing leadership to the 55-member Knoxville office, with executive oversight of projects, staff and operations throughout the region while maintaining key client relationships. A graduate of the University of Tennessee School of Civil Engineering, he is a licensed professional engineer and construction specialist in higher education, healthcare and other facilities. He is a resident of Maynardville, TN.




Charles Mabe, vice president, procurement and pre-construction services
Mabe, who joined Christman in 2000 and has 23 years construction experience, is leveraging his technical and project management expertise in working with skilled trades on a wide range of projects, in addition to overseeing all general contract bidding processes. Mabe, a graduate of the Ferris State University Construction Management program and a construction specialist in industrial, parking and other facilities, is also involved as a mentor for tnAchieves to help increase higher education opportunities for Tennessee high school students. He resides in Blount County, TN. 




Jacob Z. Kulhanek, P.E., ATD, LEED AP, vice president, regional operations
Kulhanek, who joined Christman in 2001 and has 21 years construction experience, brings nearly a half billion dollars of project management and client relationship building experience to his leadership of the Tennessee construction operations team. Kulhanek, a graduate of the Michigan State University School of Civil Engineering, is a licensed professional engineer, LEED Accredited Professional and Accredited Tier Designer (ATI) for construction of high performance data centers. He resides in Knoxville, TN.



Cheryl McKenry, business development manager
McKenry recently joined the company to develop and extend relationships throughout the Tennessee construction industry. She most recently served as a treasury management sales officer with a large regional bank, developing a strong history of business-to-business sales in the banking and insurance industries. McKenry graduated from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville with a B.A. in Sociology. An active member of the community, with ongoing participation in various charitable endeavors, she resides in Knoxville, TN.
