Brayman Construction Corporation, a member of multiple AGC chapters, recently announced that the Jonathan Hulton Bridge, a major river crossing in Oakmont, Pennsylvania, would be opening to traffic on Oct. 20, 2015. Pennsylvania Transportation Secretary Leslie Richards attended the ceremony on Sept. 17, stating that the opening is "another milestone on our journey to a better tomorrow."

Brayman is currently the only contractor to have major river crossing construction projects simultaneously in-process on all three of Pittsburgh’s major rivers. The company will complete the construction of the Jonathan Hulton Bridge ($65M), over the Allegheny River in Oakmont, and Masontown Bridge ($50M), over the Monongahela River in Masontown, this fall. The Ironton-Russell Bridge ($83M), over the Ohio River in Lawrence County, Ohio, notably the company’s first cast-in-place concrete, cable-stayed structure, is well into construction and on schedule for completion in June of 2016.

Other major river w ork:
In a recent Joint Venture Partnership with Trumbull Corporation, a member of multiple AGC chapters, Brayman was low bidder on the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ River Chamber Completion Project ($240M for all awardable options) at Charleroi Locks and Dam on the Monongahela River in Charleroi, Pennsylvania.

In 2011, Brayman and Trumbull partnered to construct a new river wall for the Charleroi lock chamber, along with a concrete batch plant and dredging material disposal site ($110M). Brayman is currently completing construction of an emptying basin ($15M) adjacent to the new river wall and downstream of the dam. The basin is comprised of precast concrete segments on concrete filled pipe pedestals with drilled shafts and tremie concrete underbase fill and is on schedule to be completed this fall.

Brayman Construction Corporation, based in Saxonburg, Pennsylvania, is a leading heavy civil and geotechnical contractor, ranked number 11 in the Pittsburgh Business Times’ Construction Contractors list.
