New Day Underwriting Managers LLC, a Contractors Association of Eastern Pennsylvania member, has celebrated its 10th anniversary as a leading environmental and construction-related professional liability resource for insurance agents and brokers. Founded in 2005, New Day has since grown over the past decade from a three-person environmental insurance firm to an award-winning, specialty intermediary providing a premier service to hundreds of customers and business partners nationwide.

"The insurance marketplace has become significantly more diverse and sophisticated over the past 10 years," says Jefferey S. Lejfer, CPCU, the company’s president and CEO. "Our success lies in helping customers resolve complex problems. We have continually and diligently modified our business model to meet their needs with the finest resources and a people approach to every transaction. Satisfaction is paramount to everything we do -- both internally and externally. Our goal is to be the best place to work and to work with people who are driven to collectively grow our organization with unrivalled client support."

"We are as dedicated to our employees as we are to our customers," says Jeff Slivka, chief operating officer and executive vice president. "This is our greatest strength and the path we chose when we started this company. There was no one else in the environmental insurance niche. From the outset, we were committed to filling the void with the best people offering the best possible solutions. Our greatest achievement is not deviating from this overriding goal."

Today, New Day has grown to over 20 professionals from the three original team members of Lejfer; Slivka; and Tim Farrell, senior vice president, who all remain at the core of the continually expanding operation. Last year alone, the company realized a 35 percent rise in revenues and staffing, which necessitated the move to a new 5,500-sq-ft headquarters in Hamilton, New Jersey.

In addition, for the second consecutive year New Day has been recognized as one of the 100 Best Places to Work in New Jersey by NJBIZ Magazine. Previously, the company was named to the 2013 and 2014 Philadelphia 100® listings highlighting the fastest growing, privately held entrepreneurial companies in the Philadelphia Region. Last year, New Day was also ranked second among all listed insurance companies and near the top 50 percent of New Jersey organizations in Inc. Magazine’s prestigious 2014 list of the 5000 fastest-growing, privately-held companies in the United States.

"One of our proudest accomplishments was our ranking as a great place to work," offers John Heft, senior vice president and director of the company’s real estate practice as well as the organization’s fifth employee. "Personal development, team-building and shared milestones are part of our everyday culture. This industry is about knowledge and relationships. We strongly believe you can’t be successful without firmly establishing both. "

"We’ve devoted numerous resources to informing customers and business partners of our efforts and new opportunities through dedicated social media, marketing and public relations campaigns all designed to promote our services and create a bond with key audiences," adds Farrell. "Our blogs, market updates and environmental risk profiles are yet another way we secured our place in the marketplace and continue to lead the way in the environmental and construction-related professional liability industry."
