Tocci Building Companies Adds Mark Herstein to Growing Design Team

Tocci Building Companies, a Boston-area construction manager and an AGC of Massachusetts member, has added design manager Mark Herstein to its team. Herstein will provide structure to support the development and refinement of design for medical and hospital projects. He will also work directly with clients’ internal stakeholders and vendors to manage the design, procurement, cost forecasting, coordination, and installation of specialty medical equipment.

The addition of Herstein to the Tocci team marks continued strategic growth to the firm in the healthcare sector. Originally a healthcare architect, Herstein will bring a unique approach to Tocci with new insights to implementing construction technologies. As a member of the Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) Team on the California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco, Calif., he led onsite coordination of medical equipment and pre-construction services. From this experience, Herstein advocates for lean methodologies on IPD projects. As a member of the Tocci team, he will facilitate pull planning sessions for the design activities associated with healthcare projects.

"Mark’s experience in medical design will be a critical asset to Tocci," said John Tocci, chief enabling officer at Tocci. "As a healthcare architect with an understanding in IPD, he can add to Tocci’s expanding expertise in the design and construction of healthcare facilities."

Herstein is a registered architect in Missouri and Washington. He received his Bachelor of Science in Environmental Design from the University of Kansas and brings over 20 years of industry experience to Tocci.
