The Associated General Contractors of Kansas recently recognized McCownGordon with the Kansas Safety Contractor of the Year award. The purpose of the award is to recognize a construction company that excels at safety performance. The award winner was announced at the AGC State Convention in Wichita, Kansas on March 4, 2022.

“Ensuring the safety of everyone on our jobsites¬ is of the utmost importance and a responsibility we take very seriously,” says Jorge DeLaTorre, safety manager at McCownGordon. “We are honored to receive this award in recognition of the tremendous efforts our team has put in. None of this would have been possible without the support and commitment to safety of our leadership team, our associate engagement and our amazing safety culture.”

McCownGordon’s leadership and top management team provide the resources needed to have a top-notch safety program. This includes implementing and enforcing strict safety measures through technology, ongoing training, site-specific safety plans and more.

Since its founding in 1999, McCownGordon has had an exceptional track record of safety performance. Recently, the company has hit an incredible milestone of working three million man hours without a lost time incident. “Our associates adhere to strict procedures for both themselves and those working on a project site. No matter the job or the circumstances, we provide a safe working environment so everyone can go home safe to their families,” says DeLaTorre.
