Company Officers Leadership Training (COLT) 2021 will be held in Erie (March 19-20), Fulton (January 22-23), and Monroe (February 19-20) Counties. This two-day leadership development program for current and aspiring company officers will feature lectures by Retired Battalion Chief/Shift Commander Jim Duffy (Wallingford (CT) F.D.), Past Chief Michael Healy (Central Nyack F.D.) and Firefighter/Past Chief Robert LaGrow (FDNY/West Haverstraw F.D.), and Assistant Chief Chris Rea (City of Kingston F.D.). Seating is limited at all NYSAFC classroom-based programs due to state and local COVID-19 safety guidelines. Pre-registration is encouraged. On-site registration will be accepted if space permits. There’s no risk to pre-register. In the event NYSAFC is forced to cancel a program due to COVID-19, students will have the option to attend on the rescheduled date or request a refund.
 
 
   
NYSAFC’s 2021 Seminar Series “The ABCs of Rescue Company Operations” will be presented by Lieutenant Paul Haynes (Syracuse Fire Department). Three-hour seminars will be held in Chautauqua (9/29), Erie (4/14), Franklin (3/16), Fulton (3/23), Oneida (9/30), Onondaga (2/10), Otsego (9/21), Rensselaer (1/28), Rockland (4/1), Saratoga (11/16), Suffolk (4/6), Ulster (9/22), Westchester (1/20), and Wyoming (3/24) Counties. Registration is open for Regional Hands-On Training at sites across New York state in 2021. “Fire Behavior On the Inside” is scheduled for Clinton (April 17-18), Erie (March 6-7), Franklin (October 2-3 and October 9-10), and Ulster (October 23-24) Counties. “Flashover” will be held in Broome (October 16-17), Erie (February 27-28), Franklin (April 10-11), Genesee (March 13-14), and Jefferson (May 1-2) Counties. “Flashover” training will also be held on August 6-7 in conjunction with the FASNY Annual Convention in Westchester County. NYSAFC is now booking “Beyond the Basics,” “Fire Behavior On the Inside,” and “Flashover” Regional Hands-On Training into fall 2021. A host Registration Form is available online for each course. Training is scheduled based on the availability of NYSAFC's mobile training unit.
