Retired Chief Ralph E. DeBolt of the Geneva Fire Department passed away on March 10, 2019. He served on the NYSAFC board of directors from 2000-2002.
 
 
   
The full lineup of fire and EMS classroom education programs to be held at the 113th Annual Conference & FIRE 2019 Expo in Syracuse is now available! Programs are open to Full Term Registrants only (unless noted) from Wednesday, June 12 through Saturday, June 15. Certified EMS providers can earn CEUs for designated EMS programs.
 
 
   
This event, co-hosted by OFPC and NYSAFC, will be held at the New York State Academy of Fire Science from May 3-5. It will feature workshops, hands-on training sessions, and networking activities for public fire and life safety educators. The 2019 theme is “Pitching the Message of Fire Safety.”
 
Congratulations to John Sudnik, who was named chief of department, and to longtime NYSAFC member Thomas J. Richardson, who was appointed the new chief of fire operations.
 
Congratulations to NYSAFC committee member Brian McQueen, past chief of the Whitesboro Fire Department, who has been named the 2019 recipient of the National Volunteer Fire Council James P. Seavey Sr. Health and Wellness Leadership Award.
