NYSAFC Delegates Attend CFSI National Fire & Emergency Services Symposium

NYSAFC representatives joined emergency services colleagues from across the country on April 15-16, 2015, in Washington, D.C. for the Congressional Fire Services Institute’s 27th Annual National Fire & Emergency Services Symposium & Dinner.

Each year,
approximately 2,000 fire and emergency services leaders from across the United States travel to the nation's capital to participate in this event – attending seminars, conducting meetings with members of Congress, and networking with peers to build relationships.

The theme of the 2015 program was, "The Future Depends on Informed Leaders." At the conclusion of the event, Vice President Joe Biden delivered remarks during the CFSI dinner at the Washington Hilton.

The CSFI was established in 1989 as a non-profit, nonpartisan policy institute, designed to educate members of Congress about the needs and challenges of the nation's fire and emergency services so that the federal government provides the types of training and funding needed by first responders.
