Emergency Services Leadership Symposium a Hit in Binghamton

NYSAFC’s Emergency Services Leadership Symposium was held October 25-26, 2012, at the Binghamton Riverwalk Hotel & Conference Center in Binghamton, N.Y. Over 50 students participated in this annual event designed to enhance the professional development and personal growth of fire department leaders of all ranks.

This year’s symposium included the lectures "Trust and The Command Officer" with Chief Mike Lombardo of the Buffalo Fire Department, "Safety and Survival from a Marine’s Perspective: Three Key Weapons to Win the War Against Accidents" with Corporal Mark O’Brien of the United States Marine Corps, and "Leadership in the Real World" with Battalion Chief Robert Burns of the Fire Department City of New York (FDNY).

"With a unique group of lecturers, this program offers an opportunity for department leaders and up and coming leaders to sharpen their administrative and command skills for use on and off the fireground," said NYSAFC Executive Director Tom LaBelle.
