AFDSNY Fire Commissioner Training Offered at FIRE 2012

The Association of Fire Districts of the State of New York (AFDSNY) has been approved by the New York State Comptroller’s Office to provide Fire Commissioner Training at the New York State Association of Fire Chiefs Annual Conference.

The training will be held on Wednesday, June 13, 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in Cypress Rooms C & D at the Turning Stone Resort in Verona, N.Y. The registration fee is $125 per person, which includes three One Day Tickets for the FIRE 2012 Expo.

The course will contain training related to legal, fiduciary, financial, procurement, and ethical responsibilities, with an update on current legislation. Training presenters will be Mark Butler, Esq. and Terrence Hannigan, Esq. All newly elected, re-elected, appointed, or re-appointed fire district commissioners must, within 270 days, attend and successfully complete a commissioner specific state-approved training course.
