NYSAFC's scholarships and awards are a special way to honor your peers for their exemplary service to our industry. Nominate someone deserving today for one of these extraordinary  honors.  

Scholarships
The NYSAFC Scholarship Program is offered to enhance, through academic achievement at the college level, the quality of leadership in the fire and life safety field and to assist Active, Associate, and Affiliate association members (and their spouses or children) in their efforts to pursue academic advancement. There are two awards given in honor of distinguished past members. Applications must be postmarked no later than March 9, 2012. 

Awards

  • Chief Fred W. Singer Fire Educator of the Year Award - Recognizes outstanding efforts by fire service instructors providing training within New York state. Applications must be postmarked no later than March 9, 2012.  
  • James W. Wright Public Education Award – Honors any individual firefighter, EMT, or emergency services personnel or emergency services department/organization/association that offers outstanding fire/injury prevention and public life safety education programs in New York state. Applications must be postmarked no later than March 9, 2012.  
  • NYSAFC Fire Chief of the Year Awards - Honors a career fire chief and a volunteer fire chief for their exemplary leadership, innovation, professional development, integrity, service to the public, and contributions to fire service as a whole. Applications must be postmarked no later than April 6, 2012.
