FIRE 2012 Preliminary Education Programs Announced

NYSAFC's 106th Annual Conference will take place June 13-16, 2012 at the Turning Stone Resort in Verona, N.Y. Join your colleagues for the Northeast's premier emergency services event. Preliminary information about the Education Program and Hands-On Training follows:

Education Program
New for FIRE 2012, the hours for Friday have been extended until 3:00 p.m.

Wednesday, June 13, 2012 speakers include: Dennis Compton, Billy Goldfeder, Rick Lasky and John Salka. Please join us for this full day of firematic education classes, which will be held from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. 

Hands-On Training
New and improved Hands-On Training programs are being offered for FIRE 2012. All traditional NYSAFC Hands-On Training programs have been revamped to bring the most up-to-date techniques to students. For example, Truck Company Operations has been divided into a series of four separate programs to provide more quality training on these vital truck company skills. Five new programs have been added this year. Programs include:

• Aggressive Interior Fire Attack
• Truck Company Series: Ground Ladders
• Truck Company Series: Roof Operations
• Truck Company Series: Forcible Entry
• Truck Company Series: Search & Retrieving Victims
• Advanced Vehicle Extrication
• Rapid Intervention Team Competition Battle Drills
• Haz-Mat "Are You Kidding Me"
• Multifaceted Elevator Rescue
• Flashover
• Advanced Thermal Imaging Camera Operations
• ICS (NIMS) "How It Really Works & Putting It To Use"

• Water Supply Operations
