Proposed Change to NYSAFC Constitution

The first reading of a proposed change to the NYSAFC Constitution took place at the association general membership meeting held on November 3, 2018, in Syracuse, N.Y. A second reading will take place on Thursday, June 13, 2019, from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. during the NYSAFC 113th Annual Conference General Session and Association Business Meeting in the Mulroy Civic Center at Oncenter – Crouse Hinds Theater, Syracuse, N.Y. See voting guidelines below.

The intent is to change the title of Chief Executive Officer to Chief Operating Officer, which will better describe the duties of the position. Strikethrough/brackets indicate text to be deleted and red/underline indicates text to be added.

ARTICLE III
Officers

Section 11. The Board of Directors shall employ an executive to manage and coordinate all Association functions as directed and planned for by the Board of Directors. This executive shall be the [Chief Executive Officer] Chief Operating Officer of the Association.

NYSAFC Voting and Election Guidelines
Voting for the New York State Association of Fire Chiefs election will be held during the 113th Annual Conference & FIRE 2019 Expo at The Oncenter in Syracuse, N.Y. on Friday, June 14, 2019, from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. and Saturday, June 15, 2019, from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. in Room 8. You must be an Individual Active Member (dues paid 30 days prior to the Annual Meeting), have joined the association 90 days prior to the Annual Meeting, and have government photo identification with you in order to vote in the election and on association matters.
