2018-2019 NYSAFC Officer Candidates Announced

The New York State Association of Fire Chiefs Nominations & Elections Committee announces the following slate of candidates for 2018-2019 and voting guidelines for the association election.

2018-2019 Proposed Candidates

President: 1-Year Term
Chief Julius J. Leone Jr. – Fredonia Fire Department

1st Vice President: 1-Year Term
Chief Robert P. Parese – Little Falls Fire Department

2nd Vice President: 1-Year Term
Chief Lee Shurtleff – Groton Fire Department

Directors – Career: 3-Year Terms
Chief James R. Comstock – Henrietta Fire District
Chief Dale G. Lingenfelter – Niskayuna Fire District No. 1

*Director – Career: 3-Year Term
Chief Bernard J. Lee – Salamanca Fire Department
Chief Richard L. Lyman – White Plains Fire Department
*The committee, finding both Chief Bernard Lee and Chief Richard Lyman qualified for the position, recommend an election be held between these two candidates.

NYSAFC Voting Guidelines

Voting for the New York State Association of Fire Chiefs election will be held during the 112th Annual Conference & FIRE 2018 Expo at the Turning Stone Resort, Verona, NY on Friday, June 15, 2018, from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. and Saturday, June 16, 2018, from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. in the Briar Room.

You must be an Individual Active Member (dues paid 30 days prior to the Annual Meeting), have joined the association 90 days prior to the Annual Meeting, and have government photo identification with you in order to vote in the election and on association matters. Call the NYSAFC office at (800) 676-FIRE or visit the NYSAFC website to obtain the association’s Constitution & By-Laws.
