NYSAFC is excited to introduce two new benefits available to both association Individual and Department Members.

The association is pleased to announce a partnership with First Due Size Up, a software company that provides real-time information on exposures and hazard recognition for properties within fire districts to help fire departments respond safely and more effectively.
First Due Size Up works with local building departments to get information relative to commercial and residential properties within the department’s jurisdiction, and then relays that information through an app that responding units can utilize on a smartphone or tablet in real-time while responding to an emergency. Information such as truss type, sprinkler connections, utilities, solar energy system locations, pools, and any other hazards that may exist on the property is readily available.

This program is offered at a discounted rate to NYSAFC Individual and Department members. To learn more about
First Due Size Up, view a 2-minute video that provides an overview of the program. Members can obtain more information online, via email, or by calling (888) 504-0016.

NYSAFC is also pleased to announce a partnership with Lexipol, America’s leading provider of state-specific fire policy, policy training, and automatic policy updates. Through this partnership, NYSAFC members will receive a 5 percent discount off Lexipol’s Fire Policy System. Lexipol offers a variety of services to fire departments. Policy clean up: By integrating an existing policy manual with Lexipol’s state-specific policies and policy platform, your department gets a highly standardized and highly customized set of New York-specific and federal-specific policies that are customized to each individual agency. This process replaces any out-of-date, inconsistent, and missing/incomplete policies found at your department. Automatic policy updates: Lexipol’s automatic updates make it faster and easier to keep department policies up-to-date and compliant with state and federal law. Lexipol’s web-based platform automates the update process, including communication of policy updates to your firefighters, ensuring they are in complaint. Policy training: Lexipol provides short, scenario-based policy training to department officers, available on any computer or mobile device. Policy trainings are focused on core critical tasks and high risk, low frequency events. Lexipol’s policy trainings are also standardized and customized, and include your department’s specific policy. Departments can easily report on policy acknowledgement and policy training. Risk reductions: Reduce physical, financial, and political risks through better policy.

To take advantage of this benefit or to learn more, contact Lexipol’s New York Account Executive Jessica Levenberg via email or phone at (949) 667-5008.

For information on any association member benefit, contact NYSAFC Membership Coordinator Brian Forte via email or at (800) 676-FIRE.
