DOH Agency Membership Forms Matter
Those pesky agency membership forms required for tuition waiver in New York state EMS training courses are potential sources of trouble if filed fraudulently. If you think no one cares about them, think again.
 
EMS Fatigue Under Study
The United States Department of Transportation has funded a two-year project to study fatigue in EMS workers. Several groups are collaborating on this project and hope to produce some evidence based guidelines for EMSers. Follow the project work here.
 
EMT Cards Printed at Department of Health
In the continued "lean" efforts at the New York State Bureau of EMS, certification cards will soon be printed in-house. The greatest advantage will be to CME participants who sometimes experienced delays waiting for printing of their cards batched with monthly written exam schedules. Of note, current turnaround time for exam results is averaging 16 business days from the test date. Impressive.
