On Monday, June 4, 2012, the 6th Annual Rochester Area National Fallen Firefighters Foundation Golf Tournament was held at the Deerfield Country Club in Brockport, N.Y. This year 228 golfers participated and helped raise $18,000 for the foundation. Of the 34 golf tournaments held throughout the year in the United States, Rochester is one of the largest events.

All proceeds from the golf tournament will benefit the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation and be used to support its mission to honor firefighters who died in the line of duty, provide resources for the surviving family members, and prevent future fire service fatalities. In 2004, the foundation launched the golf tournament as a way of paying tribute to firefighters who die in the line of duty and to raise funds to continue the foundation’s outreach programs.
