Dear Colleagues,

It is our great pleasure to announce the release of NAEP's 2020-2024 Strategic Plan.  A year in the making, this document sets the roadmap for organizational transformation designed to better align member needs with benefits and services.  Focusing on three core areas:  Education, Connection, and Branding, the new Strategic Plan focuses the association's resources into the areas that you told us were most important to you and provided for innovation, modernization, and growth.

The original release, timed with the 2020 Annual Meeting in Nashville, Tennessee, was delayed as our members and the organization adjusted to the COVID-19 pandemic.  The National Board of Directors has taken time to revisit the plan to ensure that the organization is keeping abreast of these impacts and are agile enough to respond to your needs in the coming months and for years to come.

Alongside these goals, we have adopted Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure NAEP’s progress and will be sharing these updates with you on an annual basis in the form of an Annual Report.  We will also be collecting your feedback annually on how we are doing and what more the organization can do to meet the changes that undoubtedly lie ahead.

Here are a few highlights of other things you can expect under the new Strategic Plan:

  • Building education meets you "where you are" and formats you want to share and learning
  • Focusing on member value, experience, and engagement
  • Aligning education to your top issues and finding ways to be in front of issues of importance to Higher Education procurement
  • Creating robust relationships with stakeholders, business partners, and strategic partners
  • Expanding connections and creating communities within NAEP for specialized discussions and to connecting professionals in specialized areas
  • Creating a reliable and robust succession plan
  • Increasing diversity and inclusion across all facets of the organization
  • Elevating the visibility of NAEP and our members to champion the value of procurement
  • And much more

NAEP will be holding a Town Hall Meeting on Thursday, June 25, 2020 at 4:00 PM EST to review the current State of the Association and to share the new Strategic Plan.  To register, please visit: NAEP State of the Association Address.

We could not have built this plan without your participation.  To all those who completed the member survey, participated in a focus group, participated in the plan development, or served as leaders and advisors, Thank You for your service to NAEP.

Sincerely,

Travis Ball
