NAEP Question of the Month: Employee Verification Providers for Recent Graduates

Print this Article | Send to Colleague

The NAEP Exchange is the place to ask your questions, seek best-practice advice, and search for RFP assistance. The Exchange is a members-only benefit, which means no prying eyes from suppliers; this is a place to ask questions of your higher education procurement colleagues from across the country.

Our question this month comes Drew Brown at Rasmussen College in Oak Brook, IL

Has anyone had any luck with third party vendors who are able to source employment verification for recent graduates?

Our Career Services Dept. has tasked us with sourcing employment verification data of recent graduates. It’s been a difficult process to find vendors capable of procuring this data for us. Our current process is requesting graduates to complete a DocuSign agreement allowing us to request to source this data. Roughly 6-7 months post-graduation, our Career Services Team Members reach out to the graduates individually to solicit this data, however the response rate tends to be low and it’s a very time consuming process. Ideally, a third party vendor sources this data without reaching out to the graduates but rather doing a Batch lookup via the graduates name and SSN.

A few additional details for this request:

-Provide current job title

-Employer name

-Start date

-Salary (this is want but not a must)

-Batch lookup for data and returned data set in an excel file

-Secure data transfer

-Roughly 700 requests a quarter (2800 annually)
