Working With Freelancers through a Third Party

Print this Article | Send to Colleague

The NAEP Exchange is the place to ask your questions, seek best-practice advice, and search for RFP assistance. The Exchange is a members-only benefit, which means no prying eyes from suppliers; this is a place to ask questions of your higher education procurement colleagues from across the country.

Our question this month focuses freelance work requests.

We have a faculty member that would like to use a freelancer through Upwork for data entry. Is anyone familiar with this service?  Do you have any experiences to share?

To add your input and expertise to the discussion started by Tom Youngs from the University of Pittsburgh, click here (you must sign into the NAEP website to respond). Are you contracting with the freelancer directly/indirectly or with the third party provider? What is the work arrangement between the individual and the university?
