Nearly 500 attendees and well over 100 vendors and sponsors gathered in Orlando in April to celebrate the 97th annual meeting of the association under the banner of Innovating for Impact: A World of Opportunities.

Bookmarked by two engaging and exciting general sessions, the educational sessions throughout the event were relevant, timely, and offered many ideas that could be implemented right away on your campus. Many of the sessions are now available for download on the NAEP website.

We started the conference with a peek behind the curtains from a presentation by Rick Wertsching, Vice President, Strategic Sourcing Parks & Resorts for the Walt Disney World Company. There were a lot of great ‘did you know’ facts presented including the number of turkey legs purchased annually by the parks. (A lot!).  Our second full day brought with it a panel discussion with three Chief Business Officers moderated by John Walda, President & CEO of NACUBO. Our closing keynote presentation had energy, inspiration, and a lot of paint. Artist David Garibaldi inspired us with 4 unique paintings, two of which will be seen at our 2019 meeting in Kansas City!

In between our keynote sessions we had over 50 breakout educational sessions over the course of three days, an exhibit hall packed with over 100 suppliers, and a wonderful E&I Mixer on Tuesday evening. Our final day brought our awards luncheon where we had to opportunity to recognize the volunteer leaders of our association.
