The committee provides recommendations to the NENA Board of Directors in response to questions such as:

  • What can NENA do to improve diversity in the association’s leadership and across the organization’s programs and activities
  • What can NENA do to better address the unique workplace challenges that the under-represented face?
  • What standards or policies can be developed to ensure that 9-1-1 provides bias-free service to everyone?

Ten at-large committee seats will be filled through this application process. Applications are due by 11:59 P.M. Eastern on Monday, November 27.

The Transition to i3 PSAP Working Group will be developing a standard specifying how an agency transitions to fully i3-compliant applications without a forklift upgrade of all applications. The standard will specify how specific applications will need to support both legacy and i3 interfaces to permit continued operations during the transition process. In scope are the following applications: Call Handling Systems, Computer Aided Dispatch and Logging Recorder. The deliverable is intended to be an ANSI-approved standard.

A variety of expertise is sought for the volunteers for this work group, such as operational and technical experience. Meetings will be held on Wednesdays from 2:00PM – 3:30PM Eastern.
