  • How the KC Mid-America Regional Council built a peer support team for 44 PSAPs and 700+ dispatchers from the ground up; and
  • How you can overcome challenges and create an organizational culture that prioritizes wellness.

Preparing for Next-Generation Text Communication
Sponsored by Solacom
Thursday, May 9 | 1PM Eastern (live) or On-Demand
FREE! Click here to register!

Most PSAPs have either already implemented text-to-9-1-1 or are actively working to develop and finalize their strategies to support text calls as part of their evolution to Next Generation 9-1-1. But, like all technologies, texting will continue to evolve, and more advanced capabilities will soon become available, including multimedia messaging service (MMS) and real-time text (RTT).

This webinar looks at the texting technologies available to PSAPs today and how these technologies will evolve to support more advanced forms of texting based on MMS and RTT. Presenters will look at how advanced texting capabilities will improve PSAP operations with more accurate and immediate access to event information that can be used to optimize call handling and improve response times.

Speakers: Tony Parrott, Vice President Sales, Solacom | Nancy MacDonald, Vice President Business Development, Solacom

CEUs: Attend this webinar and receive one-half ENP re-certification point toward the six-point maximum for non-NENA courses in the Professional Development CEU/Course Credits section.

Can't attend on the 9th? Register now and you will have access to the on-demand webinar archive via the registration landing page.

Webinar Access Info: Dial-in and web-access details will be provided to attendees via email automatically upon registration.

Washington Briefing

On April 17, FCC Commissioner Jessica Rosenworcel released the latest episode of Broadband Conversations, featuring Congresswoman Norma Torres—the only 9-1-1 dispatcher serving in Congress.

Congresswoman Torres spent 17 years as a telecommunicator for the Los Angeles Police Department and on the podcast, you will hear her describe the one 9-1-1 call that led her to activism that took her from serving on the city council to serving on Capitol Hill.

Listen to this episode here or via your podcatcher of choice.

Volunteers Wanted

The NENA Institute Board requests that all ENPs volunteer an hour of their time in the ENP booth at #NENA2019. We would like your help to spread the word about the ENP certification and the professional benefits of obtaining the designation. Booth volunteer duty is for one hour during your selected time slot.

Please consider setting aside a small fraction of time during the conference to help further the ENP program and provide future ENPs the opportunity to hear from an industry professional about the importance of ENP certification. You'll also receive volunteer points toward your own ENP re-certification.

Click here to sign up and pick your time.
