NENA Statement on FCC Nomination & Reappointments

NENA strongly supports the nomination of Anna Gomez by President Biden to serve as a member of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and the reappointment of Commissioners Starks and Carr. "I have known Anna for years as she served at the FCC, at the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA), and in private practice," said Brian Fontes, CEO of NENA. "Anna is a person of the highest integrity, and she is an expert in telecommunication law and policy. She fully understands all aspects of 9-1-1 and public safety policy. She will make an excellent commissioner." Commissioners Starks and Carr are proven members of the FCC. Their expertise and knowledge along with that of Chairwoman Rosenworcel and the addition of Anna Gomez will bring the FCC to a full complement of five expert leaders.
