The Delivery of Next Generation Services Via the Cloud Work Group is focused on delivery of NG9-1-1 services via a cloud deployment model. This group is charged with developing an Information Document that defines and characterizes public and private cloud-based deployments. In addition, it will cover operational, physical security, cybersecurity, reliability resiliency and availability considerations of NG9-1-1 services delivered using a cloud-based deployment model. The document should be applicable to Next Generation Core Services, Call Handling, Dispatch systems and other services. End-to-end performance and SLA parameters will also be addressed. This Work Group will address the specific deployment model of Cloud-Based services keeping intact the standards detailed in STA-010. Click here to join.

The Security for NG9-1-1 (NG-SEC) Work Group is forming to assess, analyze, and recommend areas that need to be addressed by NENA 75-001. The WG will focus on cyber security functions that have become a common thread between the established guidelines and standards. As the group focuses on new items to include, they will also work to establish a recommended guideline built to minimize the risk and limit the damage to 9-1-1. The WG will also work to ensure the standard is aligned with NENA-STA-010. Additionally, the WG may review specific mechanisms (TDoS / DDoS, Ransomware etc.) that may require a policy or guideline to guide how vendors are pursuing NG9-1-1 security. Click here to join.

The Telecommunication Denial of Service (TDoS) Work Group is developing an Information document focused on Telecommunication Denial of Service Attacks. Click here to join.

The E2 Interface Work Group will update the NENA Standard for the Implementation of the Wireless Emergency Service Protocol E2 Interface. This revised document should be the definitive document describing the E2 interface and should be sufficiently detailed and accurate to allow implementations without requiring access to closed standards. The workgroup will also consider clarifications or changes in support of delivering improved location to both legacy and transitional i3 environments. Click here to join.
