NENA Announces Restructuring of Development Committees & New Committee Leadership

As the 9-1-1 association, standards-development work is a foundational element of NENA’s leadership role in the public-safety community. To help improve and expand our standards-development efforts, NENA has recently completed a restructuring of the NENA Development Group—the volunteer-led committees and working groups that create NENA's standards and other documents.
This restructure sees several new committees formed, including groups devoted to 9-1-1 security and resiliency, as well as a 100 percent increase in 9-1-1-center-focused committees. As with all NENA committees and working groups, these new committees are composed of operations and technical professionals from multiple organizations, exemplifying the forward-focused, collaborative approach that has always been a hallmark of NENA's development process.
The restructure promises additional improvements, including a reduction in the time necessary to introduce new documents and an even greater focus on the issues that matter most to NENA's members.
