The NENA Protocol for Handling Calls Regarding Human Trafficking Information Document provides a recommended procedure for handling calls concerning human trafficking victims and/or credible community tips. Guidance is provided relating to the collection of information by telecommunicators, which is vital to the speedy rescue of human trafficking victims in life threatening situations or in need of immediate rescue. Guidance is also provided on recommended procedures for handling information reporting of human trafficking situations. This NENA Information Document provides a baseline Standing Operating Procedure (SOP) for handling human trafficking related calls that PSAPs can utilize to develop an agency-specific SOP.
