We are thrilled to share some exciting news with you — the New England Healthcare Engineers’ Society (NEHES) has been awarded Platinum Elite Chapter Status by the American Society for Health Care Engineering (ASHE) for 2025!
|
ASHE Description
“Elite status is a bonus distinction to recognize chapters that have sustainability initiatives. A chapter must achieve platinum, gold, silver, or bronze level in addition to meeting the Elite criteria to qualify. The Elite distinction is added to the chapter awards (e.g., Platinum Elite, Gold Elite, Silver Elite, or Bronze Elite).”
To get this designation, the NEHES chapter had to meet the following criteria:
- Participation in the Energy to Care Chapter Challenge during the reporting year (for this year, there were enough facilities to fit NEHES into the “small” reporting category; 5-15 participating member facilities).
- Appointment of a NEHES Sustainability Liaison.
- Liaison attendance at quarterly Chapter/Liaison calls and reporting back to chapter members.
In addition to these requirements, the NEHES Sustainability Committee works to bring recent and relevant content surrounding topics of energy efficiency and sustainability to the entire network of NEHES members through conference participation as well as quarterly lunch-in learn webinars.
To learn more or get involved, please contact info@nehes.org.

The Climate Resilience for Healthcare (CR4HC) toolkit is designed primarily for healthcare emergency preparedness professionals, as well as the multidisciplinary teams that participate in healthcare organizations’ emergency preparedness and resilience planning. CR4HC is designed to be used after completing a hazard vulnerability assessment, using tools like the HHS Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response (ASPR) Risk Identification and Site Criticality (RISC) Toolkit, to inform health care resilience planning in the setting of evolving climate-related disasters and extreme weather events.
