Apple announced earlier this week that it would phase out iTunes on its upcoming operating system in favor of three new apps: Music, TV and Podcasts. Though iTunes as we know it will be no more, you don't have to worry about losing those iTunes playlists you made back in the summer of 2006. Economists polled by Refinitiv anticipate that the Labor Department's jobs report out today will show 185,000 jobs were added in May, with the unemployment rate holding at a very low 3.6% — still a healthy pace, even if slightly below the 218,000 over the past year. You might assume things have drastically changed for black people seeking home ownership since the Fair Housing Act was passed in 1968, but you would be wrong. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the homeownership rate among white Americans is 73.2%, while the black homeownership rate stands at 41.1%. In comparison, 42% of black households owned their homes back in 1970, two years after housing discrimination based on race, color, religion, and national origin was outlawed. (Black Enterprise)
