Producing an association magazine is hard work!

That's why Naylor's created a free ebook that lays out all the strategic decisions you’ll need to make to maximize your association’s content and revenue-earning potential from a member magazine.

Whether you already produce a print or digital association magazine, or if you’re thinking about incorporating a magazine into your member communication program for the first time, you’ll benefit from this reading the tips and expertise in this ebook. Download it today!

Daily Schedule

For the first time in the survey’s history, the challenge of "generating non-dues revenue" topped all other obstacles faced by associations. “Communicating member benefits effectively” and “engaging young professionals” rounded out the Top 3, all of which were selected by more than half of the associations surveyed in 2023.

While the industry will always face challenges, it appears associations have improved on significant challenges of the past. For instance, “combating information overload/cutting through the clutter” consistently ranked the biggest challenge for consecutive years, with at one time as many as 70% of respondents reporting it as a challenge. This has dropped to less than half reporting it as a top hurdle, which could be the result of associations honing in on the best channels to engage members, as many social media apps dropped in ranking as a valuable engagement tool.

Keynotes, Sessions & Seminars

Association Adviser magazine recently interviewed Naylor's new President & CEO Christine Shaw to get her insights on emerging trends that will shape the industry, the importance of data in good decision-making, and how associations can build stronger partnerships. In the interview, she said:

"I envision a future where associations stay relevant and adapt by embracing digital transformation, prioritizing data-driven decision-making, nurturing collaborative networks, emphasizing continuous learning and advocating for their members. Associations must fully leverage technology, offer personalized online experiences and opportunities for in-person connection, and collect and analyze data for informed decision-making. Fostering collaboration, providing continuous learning opportunities and advocating for industry interests will solidify their relevance."
