The Chapter Development Committee has been very busy this year talking to women about potentially chartering a chapter and setting up a formal Chapter Leadership training program. This year we chartered 3 new chapters (Dakota Prairies, Vermont and North Alabama). We have also talked with 21 potential chapters that are in various stages. A subcommittee that will be part of Chapter Development next year is Post Chartering led by Amber Kohut, Membership Coordinator to assist new chapters get off the ground, grow and lead in their first few years. In addition to chartering chapters, we set up a formal chapter leadership training program that will also become a subcommittee of Chapter Development next year.  Chapter Leadership Training can be tailored to any Chapter’s needs.

Industry Update
The National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) celebrated excellence in the construction industry at its annual conference held on August 14-17 in Houston, TX. One highlight of the event was the presentation of the prestigious Project Excellence Awards, which recognize outstanding achievements in construction projects led by industry professionals.
Turner signs on to Equity in Infrastructure Project initiative that promotes opportunities for minority, women, and small owned businesses in construction.
