Association News
Crissy began working at NAWIC in 2012 as an administrative assistant and then moved to bookkeeper before she was promoted to executive director in 2019. Her day to day gets busy as she is responsible for directing and administering all programs, operations, and policies, oversees staff, works with industry partners, and manages the annual budget. Her favorite part about working for NAWIC is how fulfilling it is to work for an association whose mission she truly believes in.

I have said this to myself at different points in my career. You may have done the same. A colleague gets a promotion that would have been a perfect fit for you. A co-worker returns from a conference that you wanted to attend. Your manager tells you about a new professional development program that you were not included in. The reactions can include anger, despondency, disappointment and lead to withdrawal and disengagement.

Industry Update
Women succeeding in construction, drawn from across the world and the supply chain, will discuss their challenges and their successes in the opening webinar of the Global Construction Summit 2024.

(From Construction Management)
The Goodwill Construction Skills Training Center works to create a talent pipeline for the construction industry, while providing opportunities for upward mobility.

(From WCNC.com)
The construction industry has long been characterised as a male-dominated field with women historically under-represented in all aspects of this sector. However, in recent years, significant progress has been made in breaking down gender barriers and increasing the presence of women in construction.
