The NAWIC app is out now! It's the association you love, in the palm of your hand. Access all things NAWIC and Annual Conference by following the directions below.

  1. Go to the App Store on iPhones or the Google Play Store on Androids and search for 'NAWIC.'
  2. Download the app.
  3. Once the app is downloaded, you will be prompted to login. You can do so using your NAWIC.org credentials.
  4. Explore away!

If you are registered for Annual Conference, you will be able to see all conference tabs and pages under events.

All chapters must turn in a Leadership Change Form to the National Office. Currently, there are still outstanding chapters who have not turned in this form. It is now overdue and must be turned in to Membership Manager Lori Wagner at loriw@nawic.org as soon as possible. Please contact Lori with questions.

In March 2022, 4.5 million workers quit their jobs and there were over 11 million open jobs. Considering the unemployment rate, it also means that about 4.5 million workers started a new job. A little digging into the data shows that the driver of the “churn” in the labor market was from professional and business services and construction. Churn is a somewhat visceral term that, for me, brings an image of turbulence and disruptiveness. It is hard to manage effectively or efficiently if a business is battered by all that noise. As a project manager, coach, and small business owner I like predictability and calm. At the same time, I can appreciate the idea that there is opportunity in chaos. Fact sheets break down funding and projects by state, eight months after the IIJA became law.
The construction industry had 71,000 fewer job openings in June, providing more evidence that a once-scorching employment market is starting to cool.
Two consecutive quarters of economic contraction is commonly used as a practical definition of a recession.

By those standards, the U.S. is officially in one.

But despite the gloomy numbers, Associated Builders and Contractors Chief Economist Anirban Basu said during a recent webinar the U.S. economy is not currently in a recession and predicts the rest of 2022 will be a year of growth. He did add “2023 is fraught with risk.”
