Women’s bodies differ from men’s, requiring Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) designed with their measurements in mind, but many women still face difficulties accessing properly fitting PPE, particularly in industries like construction, manufacturing, and mining. This lack of access not only threatens safety but also reflects a broader equity gap in the workplace. In response, a global survey, conducted alongside the #MyBodyMyPPE campaign in April 2024, collected data from 505 women across various industries, primarily in English-speaking countries, to understand the challenges they face in securing appropriate PPE. The findings emphasize the need for proactive solutions to close the PPE equity gap and improve safety for all workers, regardless of gender.
