For Danielle Miura, CFP®, MSFP, EA, volunteering with NAPFA is about building community by helping people share ideas, feel supported, and grow together. As Local Groups Chair for the West Region Board of Directors, she spends her time listening, facilitating collaboration, and helping members turn ideas into action.
“What I love most is bringing local group leaders together and hearing what’s working for them,” she said. “Our board has always focused on helping members feel seen and supported. Watching those conversations grow into collaborations that strengthen our whole region has been the most rewarding part.”
That instinct to build connection threads through every part of Danielle’s professional life. She founded her own firm, Spark Financials, to help women in midlife who are often balancing family, work, and major transitions find peace and confidence in their financial decisions. “My clients often come to me overwhelmed and unsure where to start,” she explained. “Together, we create structure and clarity so they can focus on what truly matters, like family time or personal goals.”
Her approach extends beyond spreadsheets. “I invest my clients’ money in themselves first,” she said. “The most valuable investment isn’t always in the markets. It’s their health, happiness, and personal growth. The financial plan is simply a tool to help them build the life they want.”
Danielle’s journey into financial planning began almost accidentally. At 24, as a new mom searching for balance, she agreed to take a CFP® exam course at her husband’s suggestion. “He told me I could stop if I didn’t like it,” she recalled. “But I fell in love with financial planning, finished all the courses, and discovered a career I never expected.”
Since joining NAPFA in 2021, she has found the same sense of belonging she now works to foster for others. “Being part of NAPFA has reminded me that even as a solo advisor, I am never alone,” she said. “The network, the collaboration, and the willingness to share knowledge are invaluable. It has made me a better planner and a better leader.”
For Danielle, volunteering is not a side activity; it’s a part of what it means to be a professional. “You are what makes an organization, and you matter,” she said. “Every volunteer brings something unique, and that is what keeps NAPFA strong and inclusive. Our ideas, experiences, and voices together make this community whole.”
She encourages others to get involved as a way to share ideas, support one another, and give back to the community that continues to shape the profession. “When you give your time to NAPFA, you are helping shape the future of our profession,” she said. “You get to see firsthand how much stronger we are when we lift each other up.”
