KEEPING UP

Registration for the NAPFA Fall conference has opened

Take advantage of discounted rates for the NAPFA Fall Conference, Oct. 20–22, at the Hyatt Regency Denver at Colorado Convention Center.

Speakers include diversity consultant Dr. James Pogue, CNET Personal Finance Editor Farnoosh Toorabi, Harvard Business School Professor Marco DiMaggio, and “abundance activist” Ellen Rogin, CPA, CFP®.

A pre-conference workshop will tackle “Social Security & Medicare: Claiming Categories, Calculations, Connections, and Client Cases” with Marcia Mantell (get a preview in the August NAPFA Advisor). This interactive, hands-on workshop covers the four Social Security claiming categories and the calculations behind the benefits. You’ll also learn the implications of the strong connections between Social Security and Medicare for unsuspecting clients. Bring your own Social Security statement, a calculator, and an eraser (!) to get the most from the case studies that are the highlight of this workshop.
