Letter from the DEI Committee

The NAPFA Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee remains dedicated to overcoming challenges, embracing new ideas, and fostering collaboration to shape a more inclusive future for NAPFA and its members, with several updates and initiatives planned on the 2024 horizon.

DEI Initiatives

  • An expansion of the DEI Training and Certificate Program will provide more training opportunities at the firm level and complement our existing mentorship program, which is set to welcome new mentors and mentees early in 2024.
  • Inside NAPFA, we will continue to create DEI-related content for the NAPFA Advisor, along with blog posts, webinars, and social media channels.
  • We will offer four new DEI scholarships to attend NAPFA conferences.
  • To broaden our reach, we are cultivating strategic partnerships with the Association of African American Financial Advisors, Onyx Advisor Network, CHIP (Changing How Individuals Prosper), and other organizations.
  • We invite all to join NAPFA Pride, our newly established LGBTQIA+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, asexual, and additional identities) group of advisors and allies.

Leadership Transition

We want to thank John Eing, Mindy Neira, and their leadership team, including Jadah Riley, Michelle Robinson, Bill Hampton, and Liz Plot, for leading the committee over the last several years and their commitment to promoting important DEI initiatives within NAPFA. Further announcements will follow as we select new leaders and work to ensure a seamless transition.

With a strong focus on progress and the help of all NAPFA members, we strive to inspire positive change in the financial planning community for years to come.

Thank you for your continued support of our accomplishments and ongoing endeavors. To learn more about NAPFA DEI initiatives and our efforts, please visit napfa.org/DEI.
