Levin Wins FPA Award

The Financial Planning Association (FPA) has named NAPFA member Ross Levin, CFP®, as the winner of its 2023 P. Kemp Fain Jr. Award. NAPFA DEI Training and Certificate Program

Registration has opened for the NAPFA DEI Training and Certificate program. Program participants will review four video modules before the live virtual workshops on Sept. 12 and Sept. 13. New NAPFA Playbook Series Starts in September

The NAPFA Playbook Series #3, which will take place on Sept. 28, Oct. 26, and Nov. 30, will focus on “Conversational Selling Skills and the Art of Influence.” In Session #1, consultant Bob Veres will discuss “Getting to Yes—The Art of Conversation and Client Conversion.”

NAPFA Fall 2023 Conference Oct. 18–21 in Louisville, KY

The NAPFA Fall Conference will be held Oct. 18–21, at the Omni Louisville Hotel. Take advantage of advanced sale prices through Aug. 18!

The two optional preconference workshops are “Preconference Workshop: Applying the Psychology of Financial Planning: Grief, Trust and Transparency” and “Tax Planning Over the Next 5 Years.”

Share Your Story with the NAPFA Cultural Awareness Sub-Committee

NAPFA’s Cultural Awareness Sub-Committee is seeking members willing to share brief stories about holidays, celebrations, and awareness dates that are meaningful to them and their families. Once collected—by phone, Zoom, or a member article—and edited, the stories will be shared with the NAPFA community to help spread awareness and understanding. Interested in writing “Practical Observations” column(s) for the NAPFA Advisor?

The NAPFA Advisor is looking for additional members to submit one or two articles annually to its “Practical Observations” column for 2024 (see “My love letter to voicemail” for an example). It’s a great opportunity if you feel strongly about issues that can help your colleagues to run their practices more efficiently and effectively. Don’t worry if you’re not an expert writer, the magazine’s editorial staff will provide helpful feedback. Articles typically run 1,000 to 1,200 words.
