 Engineers and academics alike will provide a one-year update from the Balanced Mix Design Implementation Working Group (BMD IWG) on June 4, sharing the key accomplishments, insights, and next steps in advancing BMD. Established to facilitate collaboration among NAPA members, agencies, and academia to address both technical and managerial challenges associated with BMD, the Working Group will highlight major deliverables, including: 
 
 NAPA staff visited two of Fort Myer Construction Corp.'s asphalt mix plants in the nation’s capital in April. Members of NAPA’s Engineering, Research, and Technology, Meetings, and Membership teams toured the FMC lab and crushing facility, as well as the District’s only batch asphalt mix plant and a drum plant that was converted in 2008. 
 In the latest episode of Pave It Black, executive coach and leadership expert Wally Adamchik shares how he has helped leaders grow by embracing grace and humility. During his conversation with Richard and Brett, Wally shares practical tools for becoming a better leader by first becoming a more intentional individual. He also dives into the power of mission statements, not just as lofty ideals but as guiding principles that keep you and your team accountable.  
 
  
 The University of Michigan's Transportation Research Institute (UMTRI) has released a second edition of an educational resource originally created in 1995. The Little Book of Profiling Second Edition: Basic Information about Measuring and Interpreting Road Profiles is available for download as part of the UM Library's Deep Blue Documents collection.

 The NAPA 2025 Midyear Meeting will be held in Kentucky this summer from July 8-11. Running midweek from Tuesday through Friday, Midyear attendees will have ample opportunity to explore the region through optional activities from bouldering and bargain-hunting to BMX and bourbon.  
 
  
 NAPA's Pavement Economics Committee (PEC) is looking to explore the performance of advanced asphalt materials and mix designs in high-stress applications, launching a Request for Proposals (RFP) centered on the subject.
