At Tilcon Connecticut, a CRH company, sustainability and social responsibility aren’t a one-time achievement – they’re a way of doing business. For the second consecutive year, the company earned the Environmental Leadership Award (ELA), this time for its initiatives at its North Branford site.
Nominations for the Asphalt Pavement Alliance’s (APA) prestigious Perpetual Pavement Awards are accepted annually from Aug. 1 through Oct. 15. Award categories include Perpetual By Performance, Perpetual By Design, and Perpetual By Conversion.

In written correspondence, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) indicated that trichloroethylene (TCE) ban compliance requirements extensions are not applicable to the asphalt industry. It is even more important now that each company understand their compliance obligations – some of which have now passed – associated with use of TCE and other chlorinated solvents. Contact Howard Marks for more information.
Asphalt mix producers who use NAPA’s Emerald Eco-Label tool to publish and manage their environmental product declarations (EPDs) now have even more ways to customize who can access that data. A new feature allows account owners to denote whether published EPD data is available to the public or reserved only for potential customers.
