Each September since 2020, the construction industry has aimed to raise awareness about the unique challenges workers face in construction, how it can lead to suicide, and what we can do to prevent it through Construction Suicide Prevention Week, held during Suicide Prevention Awareness Month.

 

 

 

NAPA seeks passionate and qualified individuals from asphalt mix producer companies to represent their states on the NAPA Advisory Council. State Advisors serve a three-year term and play a vital role in our organization.

 

 

Members elected Jay Lemon of Haskell Lemon Construction Co. in Oklahoma to chair the 2026 NAPA Board of Directors during the elections held late this summer.

 

Lemon will officially take the gavel during the NAPA 2026 Annual Meeting set for Scottsdale, Arizona Jan. 26-29.

 

Jason Duininck of Duininck Inc. was elected to the first vice chair role, with CRH’s Ron Sines set to serve as second vice chair. Ajax Paving of Florida’s Vince Hafeli will be secretary.

Researchers from the National Center for Asphalt Technology (NCAT) will discuss the use of reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP) and rejuvenators in asphalt mixtures as part of the From Research to Implementation Webinar Series on Sept. 18.

 

The Virginia Transportation Research Council’s Stacey Diefenderfer will be joined by NCAT’s Nathan Moore and Nam Tran for High RAP + Rejuvenators, a discussion on the use of high RAP mixtures paired with rejuvenators for asphalt pavements.

The future of the asphalt pavement industry gathered in Savannah, Georgia Sept. 8-10 for the IMPACT Leadership Group Conference.

 

Emerging leaders at NAPA member companies participate in the IMPACT Leadership Group, which annually hosts events that bring the brightest thinkers in the industry together. In Savannah, attendees heard about their role in shaping the future of leadership and advocacy in the asphalt pavement industry.
