Asphalt Mix Producers are encouraged to help NAPA gather 2024 construction season data by completing these surveys by June 2.

 
   

Engineers and academics alike will provide a one-year update from the Balanced Mix Design Implementation Working Group (BMD IWG) on June 4, sharing the key accomplishments, insights, and next steps in advancing BMD.

Established to facilitate collaboration among NAPA members, agencies, and academia to address both technical and managerial challenges associated with BMD, the Working Group will highlight major deliverables, including:

  • Balanced Mix Design Guidance – A practical tool outlining the engineering, economic, and environmental impacts of different BMD strategies, helping contractors make informed decisions.

The NAPA 2025 Midyear Meeting will be held in Kentucky this summer from July 8-11.
 
Session topics include work zone safety, resilience, workforce development, and advocacy, with plenty of opportunity for networking and enjoying Louisville.

NAPA joined with the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) and other partner trade associations in Washington, D.C. to celebrate construction as part of AEM’s Celebration of Construction on the National Mall.

 
Besides participation from NAPA Associate Members, NAPA also had a booth where staff answered questions from lawmakers, agencies, political staff, and the general public.

The submission window for Diamond Commendations has shifted to run from April until Aug. 15, allowing companies to begin promoting their achievements earlier in the year.
 
Self-assessments are available in five categories, which document and recognize the use of best practices for asphalt plant operations, terminal operations, asphalt production, and paving:

NAPA's Pavement Economics Committee (PEC) is looking to explore the performance of advanced asphalt materials and mix designs in high-stress applications, launching a Request for Proposals (RFP) centered on the subject.

The PEC has made up to $75,000 in funding available for this 12-month contract.
